Young people in the spotlights during ‘Picnic Eurotastic’

The three Belgian Youth Councils*, together with Steunpunt Jeugd, organise a sustainable picnic on 12 August in the Royal Park in Brussels.

Affiche Picnic EurotasticTo celebrate the International Youth Day, the youth councils will put the positive commitment and enthusiasm of young people in the spotlights. With the support of the Belgian EU Presidency Youth, they invite young people to come between 12 o’clock noon and 4 pm to ‘Picnic Eurotastic’ to have their lunch in the Royal Park in Brussels (between the Royal Palace and the Belgian Parliament). Oxfam will serve sustainable drinks. In collaboration with Pure Fm and FM Brussel, Buscemi, Cosy Mozzy and DJ Sonar will spice up our picnic with some great music.

Because 12 August 2010 is also the start of the UN International Youth Year, we launch the idea to organise similar picnics all over Europe for, by and with young people.

The participating young people and their message will be literally put in the picture. During the EU Youth Conference from 2 till 4 October we will present their pictures and messages, where other young people get the opportunity to react to them.
